This is a very heavily burred slab of brown cat's paw oak, with tiger pattern weaving through the grain. The depth of the slab is ....

As you can see from the photographs, the slab varies in width along its length, burrs ballooning the edges. 

The felling cut (evident in the photographs), has been removed, a straight edge now forms the base of the slab.

I sell wood because I love wood. I also keep wood because I love working with wood. I am only selling this because I have to sell this (and my wife would damage me if I were to keep *another* slab of wood). I would be quite happy to keep it and hang it on a wall as it is. I have six slabs from the tree that produced this one, all of them are beautiful, as beautiful as any wood I've seen. Indeed, there are two (slabs 18A and 18B) that are the nicest pieces of wood I've ever seen anywhere, with breathtaking figure. Those slabs are being sold as a pair; if you cannot see them it is because someone agreed with me and gobbled them up.

This slab is being baked in our kiln on gas mark oak, I expect the drying process to be finished March/April. If you would like more information, please contact me. I won't be able to provide more photographs until the slab has finished drying. It is, as I type, buried under many hundreds of kilograms of slabs and drying weights.
